Girl dies after eating red anise

A 4-year-old girl in Shiquan county has died after eating a flower in her garden. The girl ate a red anise out of curiosity while she was playing in the garden unsupervised. According to her parents, she began to vomit and had stomachache for two hours after eating the flower. They took their daughter to hospital, but she died about two hours later. The local forestry bureau warned people of the risks of wild red anise, which is a widely grown but poisonous flower that people often pick to display at home.
