Former ministry official demoted

Chen Chuanshu, 63, a former senior official of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, has been demoted, China's top anti-graft authority said on Monday. Chen, former director of the China National Committee on Aging, was demoted to a nonleading position in the ministry, according to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, for alleged dereliction of duty as the leading official of units affiliated with the ministry.
