Tradition: Introducing martial arts to the Netherlands

Arend F. van Peer, 39, and his wife, Khingeeva Tatyana, came to China from the Netherlands in October 2013. A professor of life sciences, Van Peer also was a fan of Chinese martial arts. As students of kung fu master Lin Zaipei, Van Peer and his wife learned the Dishuquan, which is also known as the Dog Kung Fu, one of the most popular martial arts styles in Fujian province and a national level intangible cultural heritage. In May, the couple will finish their work in China and return home: They plan to introduce the Dog Kung Fu to the people in their country.
