Woman burned by cupping treatment

A woman, surnamed Shi, who received cupping treatment 27 times in nine days in Jinan, was hospitalized after suffering serious burns. On April 13, Shi was sent to hospital for emergency treatment after becoming faint and having a fever. Doctors said she had serious burns and that her wounds had become infected. She spent 8,800 yuan ($1,280) on cupping treatment at a local health club, with each session lasting 40 minutes.
