Chinese official to address World Bank/IMF session

The spring meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund will be held in Washington from Friday to Sunday. Yi Gang, deputy governor of the People's Bank of China, will address the gathering on Friday. He will speak about the role of the Special Drawing Right basket of currencies in the international monetary system. In October, the renminbi was added to the basket as the fifth currency.
