Senior lawmaker investigated

Yang Chongyong, deputy director of the Hebei Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, has been placed under investigation for "serious violation of Party discipline", the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the country's top anti-graft watchdog, said on Tuesday. From 2007 to 2016, Yang also served as a member of the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, president of the Hebei Academy of Governance and deputy governor of Hebei.
