Education: Professor gets students to be deadly serious

A university professor believes her course is a matter of life and death, literally. How death and the end of life is approached in films is at the core the course and she wants students to be able to approach the subject openly. The optional course Life and Death Studies in Films is being taught at Beijing Normal University by Lu Xiaoya, a 63-year-old professor. Life, Lu said, must not be taken for granted and recognizing death is an essential part of our existence.
