Cuba's digital drive gathers impetus

China lends tech help as country eyes internet boost

HAVANA - A new assembly plant on the outskirts of Cuba's capital is propelling the digital dream of the country, helping it to catch up and keep pace with the 21st century.

Opened in Dec 2016, the plant, which is the first of its kind in Cuba, assembles laptops and tablets using Chinese-made components and technologies.
