Resident detained over national security

A Taiwan resident has been detained on suspicion of harming national security, according to Ma Xiaoguang, spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, who spoke at a news conference on Wednesday.

Lee Ming-che had been reported missing on March 19 while in Guangdong province. Ma said he is "in good health".

"Developments of the investigation, in line with the judicial process, will be disclosed in a timely fashion," he said, adding that judicial procedures are underway.
