Weather satellite to be launched

China will launch a new meteorological satellite in the second half of this year, which will be capable of detecting auroras, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp announced on Thursday. The satellite, the country's fourth Fengyun 3 meteorological satellite, is expected to improve forecasting of extreme weather conditions as well as environmental monitoring.
