Ministry briefing to focus on fall in nonfinancial ODI
The Ministry of Commerce will hold its weekly media briefing in Beijing on Thursday. Attention will focus on the country's nonfinancial outbound direct investment in the first two months of this year, released last week. ODI slid by 53 percent year-on-year to 92.42 billion yuan ($13.43 billion). The central government has been stepping up controls over ODI since late last year amid concerns of a depreciating yuan as the country's foreign exchange reserves fell sharply.
