A nation's film industry has to develop to become strong. Yet a film's soul lies in its quality, not in industrialization. We are so proud of the 40,000 cinema screens that are now in China, but in a way they are just like pans in a kitchen - and filmmakers are chefs, not pan makers. China's film industry boasts high-tech equipment but the content still lags behind. Filmmakers should respect their audiences by creating good work.
