Volunteers offer their services

Volunteers will join a number of hospitals in Beijing to offer their services this year, helping medical staff to take care of patients, according to one of a series of public welfare activities launched in the city. Beijing has more than 3.7 million real-name registered volunteers and more than 50,000 volunteer service organizations. The volunteers will carry out 97 voluntary service activities this year with a focus on low-carbon travel, cultural heritage protection and the Winter Olympics preparation. Professionals will be mobilized to play a big role in social services to provide assistance for local residents.
