Procuratorate's action focused on loopholes in judicial system

Prosecuting authorities have sped up the handling of 1,845 cases involving suspects who have been criminally detained for a long time without having been convicted and sentenced, the Supreme People's Procuratorate said on Saturday.

In April 2013, the top prosecuting department launched a special action to address cases where suspects had been held in criminal detention for a long time without a court ruling being made.
