Shanghai deputies woo support for motions

Thirteen Shanghai deputies to the National People's Congress presented 22 motions at a meeting on Saturday on issues ranging from recycling electronic waste to the safety of personal information.

A motion is effective only when it is endorsed by at least 30 deputies from the delegation.

Each deputy ended a five-minute presentation by saying, "Please support my suggestion." Some even used new ways to win support at the meeting attended by 60 deputies.
