Young people are at risk of forgetting their heritage, political adviser warns

Schools and education authorities must do more to foster an interest in calligraphy to prevent young people losing the ability to write Chinese, according to a political adviser.

The boom in mobile technology has led to students becoming more reluctant to write by hand, instead preferring to tap out notes and messages on smartphones, Su Shishu, chairman of the China Calligraphers Association, said on Saturday.
