Official probed for violations

Sun Huaishan, 65, a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, has been put under investigation for suspected "serious disciplinary violations", the top disciplinary body of the Communist Party of China said on Thursday. According to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC, Sun is director of the Committee for Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese.
