APPOINTMENTS

Vincent Pimont has been appointed general manager of The Peninsula Beijing. With more than 20 years of industry experience in tourism and hospitality, Pimont has held a range of positions with luxury cruise ships, theme parks and five-star hotels and properties in France, the United States and Asia.
Vivian Xu has been appointed marketing communications manager of Swissotel Beijing, Hong Kong Macao Center. Prior to this position, the Griffith University graduate worked as a journalist in Beijing before taking a position with the Hilton Sanya Yalong Bay Resort & Spa in Hainan province.

PARTNERSHIP
AccorHotels, a travel and lifestyle group, and Qatar Airways, the national carrier of the State of Qatar, have joined forces to give more benefits to members of their respective loyalty programs, Le Club AccorHotels, and Qatar Airways Privilege Club. Privilege Club members can now convert their Qmiles into Le Club AccorHotels points to purchase free nights and receive discounts on their next stay in more than 3,400 hotels. Le Club AccorHotels members who have notched up 2,000 points can convert them into Qmiles and access a network of over 150 destinations.

OPENING
The St. Regis Changsha opened in the capital of Hunan province in East China on Jan 19, becoming the luxury brand's fourth property in China. Another St. Regis hotel will be unveiled in Shanghai later this year and eight more are scheduled to open in the country over the next five years. The St. Regis Changsha is offering a special discount to celebrate its opening, with a one-night stay priced at 1,689 yuan ($246) per room, including breakfast for one person.
