Life sciences company Bayer has launched a training program for Chinese farmers on pesticide safety, in an effort to reduce the likelihood of harm resulting from misuse.
The German company has signed a strategic agreement with the China Crop Protection Industry Association to train Chinese crop protection experts, specialists and trainers in agricultural technology, on how to apply pesticides in a safe and responsible way, according to Huang Weidong, the country head of Bayer Crop Science Division in China.
Echoing the State Council's newly amended pesticide regulations released in early February, the company said it would tailor the courses to meet the needs of the world's second largest economy.
