Vietnam border guards accused of beating tourist who failed to pay up

China has demanded Vietnam investigates reports that a Chinese tourist was beaten by border security officers for his failure to pay a tip.

The man, identified only as Xie, allegedly received three broken ribs and multiple bruises in an assault on Tuesday in Mong Cai, which is on Vietnam's border with the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
