Rafa won't compete at Rotterdam

By Reuters | China Daily | Updated: 2017-02-11 07:16

Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from next week's Rotterdam Open after being advised by doctors to rest, the Spanish world No 6 said on Thursday.

Nadal, who lost in five sets to perennial rival Roger Federer in last month's Australian Open final, was left off Spain's Davis Cup squad for its World Group first-round tie against Croatia last weekend due to fatigue.

"I am very sorry to announce I won't be able to play in Rotterdam next week," Nadal said on Twitter.
