Red pants plan goes awry

A driver has been detained in Jinan for concealing his vehicle license plate using a pair of red underpants. The man admitted to police that he had covered his plate so that surveillance cameras would not be able to identify his vehicle when he violated traffic rules during the Lunar New Year holiday. He said he used red underpants as he hoped they would help him ward off evil spirits and bring him good luck in the Year of the Rooster.
