Beijing license plate draw confirms number

A total of 150,000 license plates will be available this year in Beijing, the same as last year, according to the city's transport authorities. Of the quota, 90,000 plates are for gasoline cars and 60,000 for new energy vehicles.

The Chinese capital introduced a lottery draw in 2010 for local residents who want to have a car. One out of 783 applicants won a gasoline car license plate in the bimonthly draw in December.
