PARTNERSHIP
Singapore-headquartered hotelier Banyan Tree Holdings and real estate developer China Vanke agreed in late January to create a new joint venture, Banyan Tree China, as a development and management platform for new projects in hospitality, senior-living and wellness.
BACK TO SHANGRI-LA
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts' three properties in Southwest China have each launched a two-night package named "back to Shangri-La" to encourage adventures exploring local cultures. The offer from the hotels in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, Lhasa, capital of Tibet autonomous region, and Diqing Tibetan autonomous prefecture in northwestern Yunnan province is valid until April 30.

MAKEOVER
In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Novotel Century Hong Kong unveiled its 510 freshly renovated guestrooms in January to enhance its guest experience offering. Located in the heart of Hong Kong's bustling Wan Chai district, the hotel is an eight-minute walk from the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center and a 10-minute walk from the Causeway Bay shopping area.
CHARITY
In partnership with charity organization Orbis, AccorHotels has raised more than 3.2 million yuan ($465,836) in its three-year corporate social responsibility program called Stay for Brightness. The sum exceeded the original target and will be used to support Orbis' sight-saving projects for underprivileged children across Heilongjiang, Gansu, Shanxi and Guangdong provinces.

CULINARY DELIGHT
Sureno at the Opposite House, Beijing's acclaimed Mediterranean restaurant, is set to elevate its offerings with a refreshed culinary style, led by its new award-winning chef, Talib Hudda. Known for his inventive approach and refined technique, he has taken classic dishes from the sun-kissed Mediterranean region and given them sophisticated yet innovative new takes. The new menu includes smoked salmon carpaccio, scallops with romesco and cauliflower, charred avocado, white beans cooked in pesto, and premium caviar.

SWEET TREATS
Waldorf Astoria Beijing will offer an array of special dining and spa experiences on Valentine's Day. These include a five-course holiday menu from a French executive chief chef, starting from 1,688 yuan ($246) per couple at Brasserie 1893; two menus prepared by new chief chef James Wang at its Chinese restaurant, priced at 1,388 yuan and 1,888 yuan per couple respectively at Zijin Mansion; and afternoon tea presented at Peacock Alley for 418 yuan.

The St. Regis Tianjin will launch its Valentine's Daythemed set menu at 1,688 yuan ($246) per person. Using high-quality ingredients such as Boston lobsters, Alaska king crabs and Spanish Iberian hams, it will serve up Mediterranean-style cuisines. 022-5830-9962
