Army probe civilian death in Yemen
The US military said it was looking into whether more civilians were killed in a raid on al Qaeda in Yemen on the weekend. US Navy SEAL William "Ryan" Owens was killed in the raid on a branch of al Qaeda in al Bayda province. Medics at the scene said about 30 people were killed.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was visiting Turkey on Thursday to meet President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the first time since July's failed coup, seeking to keep a key partnership alive after a series of crises. Merkel will also meet Turkish opposition figures during the one-day visit.
