Dutch player sets standard in largest smartcard industry
It has been almost 10 years since Netherlands-based NedCard, Europe's leading smartcard manufacturer for more than two decades, opened its manufacturing plant in Shanghai.
Today, more than 85 percent of NedCard's current smartcard production is done in Shanghai.
With the recent changes in import and export regulations in China's export processing zones, NedCard is now in a position to provide equivalent logistics services and performance alongside its Chinese counterparts.
NedCard's security certifications assure that high security requirements are observed and fulfilled throughout its supply chain, making it a key global player in providing semiconductor components for chip cards in the government, banking and e-commerce sectors to countries around the world.

The company specializes in specifically tailored solutions for customers. Its broad range of business models also allows for the best price-quality ratio, with innovations built-in by a stable and experienced team of specialists.
NedCard's smartcard assembly and test process already turns chips into modules at a close to perfect working mode of 99.7 percent.
"We are constantly improving our process for a distinguished product that is faster and stronger each time," said Frans Geurts, CEO of NedCard.
"We cater mainly to the chip card market today, but are prepared for developments in the future to accommodate growth in other markets."
NedCard will increase its production in Shanghai from 1.5 billion to 2.6 billion units in the coming years so that it can continue to meet the growing demand for electronic transactions.
It is now set on meeting the requirements of new and emerging markets for the contact, contactless, and dual interface modules it produces.
