Xi extends holiday wishes to soldiers

President Xi Jinping paid a visit to troops in Zhangjiakou on Monday, ahead of Spring Festival. Xi extended festive wishes to soldiers and urged the army to enhance its combat capability through live-fire drills. He stressed the importance of the central leadership's command of the army. He also said that military officials should learn a lesson from the cases of Guo Boxiong and Xu Caihou, two former vice-chairmen of the Central Military Commission, who were found guilty of corruption.
