APPOINTMENT

Thomas Laberer has been appointed executive chef of the Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou in Guangdong province. The German-born chef will oversee the culinary operations in all the hotel's food and beverage outlets, along with the hotel's catering and in-room dining services.

The debut of Fairmont Chengdu earlier this month marks the 200th property for AccorHotels in China as part of the group's rapid luxury brand expansion. As Fairmont Hotels and Resorts' first property in western China, Fairmont Chengdu is a landmark hotel in the capital of Sichuan province, a region known for its rich history and cultural heritage.

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel has teed off 2017 with the opening of its first golf resort in China. The Ritz-Carlton, Haikou in Hainan province is situated on the world-class Mission Hills golf resort, which boasts 10 18-hole championship courses. Every guestroom at the hotel provides a view of the landscape that features rocky outcrops with variations of jungle vegetation, expansive lakes and wetlands.
