Abusive partner sent to prison
A man in Shishi has been jailed for 10 months for beating his partner unconscious and taking nude pictures of her in an attempt to blackmail her into staying with him. The 30-year-old, surnamed Yan, met his former girlfriend, surnamed Lin, in 2012. They moved in together but would often fight, so Lin tried to leave on March 5, 2016. However, Yan attacked her, took the pictures and threatened to post them online. Lin called the police on March 17 and Yan was detained the next day. He was sentenced on Dec 30.
