Professional skills requirements eased

China will remove universal requirements for foreign language ability and computer skills from its professional rank evaluation system, according to a circular issued by the central government on Sunday. The reform will begin in engineering, hygiene, agriculture, accounting, institutes of higher education and scientific research within three years, according to the document. The new system will take shape in five years with an emphasis on scientific evaluation and standard management.
