Fraudsters sold overpriced plants

Three men and a woman went on trial on Dec 26 for mis-selling maca, a plant native to the high Andes of Peru. The suspects, surnamed Liu, Sun, Cui and Hu, bought the plant, which some consider an aphrodisiac, for 30 yuan ($4.30) per 250 grams. They are accused of selling it for 20 yuan per 1 g, despite advertising it for 20 yuan per 250 g, between July 16 and August 11. The court has yet to pass judgment.
