From the pages of china daily, a colorful look back at 2016 in pictures
It's three days into the new year, but many images from 2016 still linger in our minds - President Xi Jinping meeting other world leaders during the G20 summit in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province; Chinese astronauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong attending a news conference in Beijing after successfully completing the Shenzhou XI mission; and a giant panda cub falling from a stage in Chengdu, Sichuan province. From events of great historical importance to spirited scenes of everyday life, these moments will stay in our memories a little longer thanks to China Daily's photographers and freelancers. This is the fifth time we have published a photo spread reviewing the images our staff photographers and freelancers have captured over the past year, many of which were widely used by major international media. We've also adopted a new look for the new year, with full-color pages throughout the newspaper. So we hope you enjoy, as we take a colorful look back and look forward to reporting China's biggest stories of 2017.
