Night dive paralyzed man

A man who broke his neck diving head first into an almost empty swimming pool at a hot spring resort in Xianning is now paralyzed. The 32-year-old, surnamed Zhang, arrived at the resort on the evening of Dec 17 with his wife. He dived straight into pool, which was normally 1.8 meters deep, without realizing it had been partly drained to change the water. A local doctor said Zhang's life was no longer in danger following treatment but he is now paralyzed for life.
