Art show highlights parents' love

Beijing-based home decoration company Shenghuojia exhibited a big bottle art, shaped like the Chinese character jia, for "home", recently at the hallway of City Mall in Zhongguancun, Beijing's "Silicon Valley". The 2.5-meter tall installation is made up of 2,061 glass bottles with a strand of white hair in each of them, collected from 2,061 parents in 34 cities across China. A typewritten note of wishes or expressions of love from a parent to his or her child was kept in each bottle. The idea was to promote care for parents by young professionals working away from home. The art exhibition was in the run-up to the Spring Festival in January and February. The holiday is an occasion for family reunions in China.
