Rosewood Sanya, scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2017 as the first Rosewood Hotels and Resorts brand resort in China, was recently named "Most Expected Hotel in China" by Voyage magazine at an awards ceremony held on Dec 10.

Under the aegis of Literary Escapes, a program launched by Sofitel to invite writers to publish short stories inspired by their stays in Sofitel hotels, the Best Foreign Book Prize was awarded recently to Helen Macdonald for H is for Hawk in the novel category. Samar Yazbek won in the essay category for her piece, The Crossing: My Journey to the Shattered Heart of Syria.
