RENAMING

Raffles Beijing Hotel was renamed Beijing Hotel NUO on Dec 1 and joined the portfolio of luxury hospitality brand NUO. The landmark property, which was opened in 1917, is one of the oldest luxury hotels in China and has witnessed many historic events over the last century.

AWARDS

Frankson Lee, general manager of InterContinental Hangzhou, has been presented the West Lake Friendship Award by the Zhejiang government for his outstanding contribution to the province.

Hyatt Regency Qingdao won the honor of the Best Business Hotel in Qingdao in November. The award was granted by Business Traveller China magazine according to its readers' votes.

PARTNERSHIP

Minyoun Hospitality signed a franchise agreement with Ammata Lanta Resort Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok on Nov 3, marking its entry into the Thailand market.

CELEBRATIONS

The Regent Beijing held a Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Nov 30 to kick off its festive holiday activities, which will run through New Year's Day. Traditional Christmas goodies, pastries and gluhwein were offered as part of the celebration.

Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center started its Christmas season with a lighting ceremony on Nov 27. The hotel has planned a series of activities, with complimentary cookies, mulled wine, German stollen and carols sung by a children's choir.
