10,000 stranded at Chengdu airport

More than 10,000 passengers have been stranded at an airport in Chengdu since Wednesday night, as flights have been delayed or canceled due to heavy fog. The city reported that heavy fog was affecting visibility at about 11 pm, and as of Thursday noon it had not cleared. The runway was closed for nearly eight hours and limited operations began at 8 am on Thursday. According to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, 102 flights had been canceled as of 8 am, stranding more than 10,000 passengers.
