Poverty alleviation efforts to increase

The central government has called for greater support from the country's more developed eastern regions to help alleviate poverty in remote western regions, according to a guideline recently issued by the State Council. Assistance from the country's eastern regions to help rural western areas should be increased through cooperation in industry development, labor services and training as well as greater financial support.
