Woman ran out on restaurant bills

A woman accused of running up hotel and restaurant bills without paying for them appeared at Chaoyang district people's court on Nov 21. Zhang Caiwen, a retired worker from Henan province, has been charged with fraud. The 53-year-old allegedly walked out of 14 restaurants in Beijing without settling the bill before she was detained in April. She is also accused of running up a 8,100-yuan ($1,175) hotel bill that she did not pay on April 6. Zhang was placed in a detention house for seven months before being brought to court. The court has yet to pass a verdict in the case.
