Officials' spouses, children face probe

The business dealings of all Beijing city officials' spouses and children will be investigated by the end of next year as part of a push to strengthen discipline within the Communist Party of China and battle graft, according to a report by Xinhua News Agency on Monday. Many corruption cases have involved officials registering businesses and property under the names of relatives. A drive to investigate officials' business dealings will cover their spouses and children by the end of next year, the report said, citing the Beijing Organizational Department, which handles Party personnel appointments.
