Cabinet urges overcapacity cut

Premier Li Keqiang heard reports about the progress of cutting overcapacity in the steel and coal industries at the executive meeting of the State Council, the Cabinet, on Nov 23. The meeting decided to send out investigation teams to tackle the illegal or regulation-breaking production activities of certain enterprises. The meeting also decided to cancel a series of vocational qualification licenses to make it easier for people to get employment or start businesses. The revised draft of the Law against Unfair Competition was also passed at the meeting, which, compared with previous versions, emphasizes the necessity of full supervision.
