19 punished overwork-safety accident

Nineteen people, including the former Party chief of Pingyi county, involved in the collapse of a gypsum mine in December last year, which led to the death of one miner and left another 13 missing, were punished on Wednesday, according to the provincial work safety administration. Ma Cong, the head of the mine, committed suicide during the rescue mission for the trapped miners. The collapse happened in the county on Dec 25 when a total of 29 miners were working underground. Fifteen of the workers were rescued.
