Item from Nov 23, 1992, in China Daily: A study group composed of experts from the Philippines and China examined and appraised an international baby-care hospital in Beijing.

To improve the breast-feeding rate to 80 percent by the year 2000, the Chinese government has started building infant hospitals in many cities.

The World Health Organization recommends exclusive breast-feeding of newborns up to 6 months, with continued breast-feeding along with appropriate complementary foods for up to two years to ensure the babies get the "best start" in life.
