What they say

"Health serves as the foundation of personal happiness and the cornerstone of social progress. Economic and social development can only be sustainable when it regards the promotion of people's health as its core. Healthy China 2030, in its essence, represents the health of 1.3 billion Chinese people."

Song Shuli, spokesperson of the National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People's Republic of China

What they say

"The overall objective of this conference is to integrate health promotion into the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations, and to reinvigorate the development of health promotion in the 21st century. Smoking control has become the most important and feasible measure taken to ensure disease prevention and individual healthcare. Most smokers are willing to give up smoking after fully recognizing its dangers. Smoking cessation clinics are where tobacco addicts seek help. While continuing to carry forward the smoking control campaign, we call for incorporating smoking cessation drugs into medical insurance to benefit more smokers, especially those who cannot afford it, which will protect second-hand smokers and promote a healthy society."
