Day to focus on violence against women

International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women will be observed on Nov 25. On that day, governments, international organizations and NGOs will organize activities to raise awareness about growing violence against women around the world. The day was proclaimed by the United Nations in December 1999. A staggering one in three women experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, according to the UN.
