China to increase number of women's toilets across the country

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China has released new criteria for public toilets on the eve of the fourth World Toilet Day, which falls on Saturday. Under the new rules, the ratio of female-to-male stalls will be changed from 1-to-1 to 3-to-2. There will be twice as many women's as men's stalls in crowded areas. The new criteria take effect on Dec 1.
