Many Chinese couples are running up huge debts, but according to a recent survey, it's mostly the responsibility of the wife to pay up.

"Currently, common debt in China's marriage law only refers to the money spent for the family, or used by both husband and wife. But many women cannot prove that the money was not spent for the family. That is how they end up paying off their husbands' debts."
