Liaoning University in Shenyang, Liaoning province, held its first Silver Spoon International Food Festival in mid-October, with representatives from Wanda Vista Shenyang hotel serving as judges. Wanda Vista Team Chinese Executive Chef Kevin Wu presented his culinary skills on the spot and shared his insights into traditional Chinese dietetics with nearly 800 students at the university's international school.

With the Christmas season around the corner, Swissotel Hotels and Resorts in Beijing is preparing its holiday offerings. Its Cafe Swiss will offer a Christmas Eve dinner priced at 688 yuan ($101) per family, including two adults and one child under the age of 12, or 388 yuan per adult, with children under the age of 12 enjoying a 50 percent discount. Michelin-starred Japanese chef Takagi Kazuo will come to The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing from Dec 2 to 4 with the hotel's resident Italian chef Amedeo Ferri to present a combination of authentic Japanese& Italian cuisines at Barolo.
