Trump becoming US president will not disturb the general trend of China-US relation. Unlike Hillary Clinton's adamant attitude toward China and Russia, I believe Trump is more flexible and he will make some strategic adjustments to strike a balance between the big countries, not against them like Clinton.

What they say

US presidential candidates love to attack China during election, but not many actually can stick by their words. After all, a healthy China-US relation is mutually beneficial.

However, cooperation and competition goes hand in hand. I predict US will scale down its global military and political presence and focus on domestic issues in the following years. But in fields where China and US domestic interests are directly at odds, China may experience greater push back and competition.
