Two new provincial officials probed

Anti-graft watchdogs named the first two high-level provincial officials to be investigated following the Sixth Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the CPC on Oct 24 to 27, which emphasized the fight against corruption.

Chen Shulong, a vice-governor of Anhui province, is under investigation for violating Communist Party of China codes of conduct, the CPC's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection announced on Tuesday.

The CCDI also said Tuesday that Zhang Wenxiong, a member of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, is being investigated on suspicion of severely violating Party discipline.
